Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the Clever Moves mobile application (“the App”) handles information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Summary
Clever Moves is a chess tactics training app. We use limited analytics to understand how the App is used. We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII), email addresses, account credentials, or data from other apps on your device.
2. Information we do not collect
- Name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- Account logins, passwords, or social profiles
- Precise location
- Contacts, photos, files, or clipboard contents
- Data belonging to or stored by other applications on your device
- Payment card or banking details (purchases, if any, are handled by Apple)
3. Information processed on your device
The App stores gameplay preferences and progress locally on your device (for example: solved puzzles, favourites, board theme, sound/haptics settings). This data stays on your device unless you clear app data or delete the App.
The App may schedule local reminder notifications on your device. Notification permission is optional and controlled in iOS Settings. Reminder content is generated on-device and is not used to identify you.
4. Analytics
We use an analytics service (Amplitude) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage events that help us improve the App. Examples of events include:
- App opened
- Settings or About screen opened
- Puzzle solved or failed (with non-identifying puzzle/set identifiers)
These events are not tied to your name, email, or other personal identity. We do not intentionally collect PII through analytics, and we do not use analytics to access information from other apps.
5. Advertising
The App may display third-party advertisements (for example, via Google AdMob). Advertising partners may collect device or advertising identifiers and similar technical data according to their own privacy policies, in order to deliver and measure ads. We do not provide them with your email address or other PII, because we do not collect that information.

6. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. Limited technical/usage data may be processed by service providers that power analytics and advertising, solely to operate those features. We do not share data obtained from other apps on your device.
8. Data retention
Local App data remains on your device until you reset progress, clear app storage, or delete the App. Analytics providers retain event data according to their retention settings and policies.
9. Your choices
- You can disable reminder notifications in iOS Settings.
- You can reset local progress from within the App’s Settings.
- You can limit ad tracking / personalized ads in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security).
- You can stop all App-related data processing by uninstalling the App.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
